Thoughts

Now that the project is winding down and I'm relatively certain no one checks this site I'll try to write more about the project. Opsec isn't the concern it was in the past and I think I should end the blog with the same commitment to the experience I had in the fall of 2004.

Memories are many and most are now hazy recollections. Long days and short years.

We have some sayings that get us through the days including:

It's all part of the 80%.
Never doubt the ridiculousness.
It's all part of the entertainment package.

One couldn't make this stuff up. The scale, the scope and the cast of characters.

La la-la-la La ....

Olympic National Park May 2003

Continuing with the theme of pics of all that is not desert.

Matemwe Beach - Zanzibar

Another one of Ining's pics. My favorite beach in the whole wide world.

Picnic?

A picnic spot? Somewheres in Tanzania, I think Lake Maynara. Beats the desert right about now.

Dork on a tank

More old stuff, I think this was two years ago. Some Iraqi Army guys tooling down the road, gracious enough for a photo op.

Taji Sandstorm 6 May 2006

This is old but a mild re-occurrence today brought back memories. As cool as sandstorms look they are not fun. Dirt, this stuff over here is not sand, in your eyes, ears, nose and teeth.

Still, fun to watch. Enjoy.

HOORAH!

I agree. Send the diplomats. Now. Whether they want to come or not.
