Questions to be asked

Who? What? When? How? Please ask your presidential candidates these questions.

I realize this endeavor here in Iraq may in fact be a fools errand and that a decent Iraq may not evolve here. I also think we've got to give this a real shot and actively engage the situation, ie wipe out the bad and start building the good.

Its pretty clear that Iraqi's political psychology is shit. They're a lot less grateful, a lot more suspicious and even conspiratorial than Rummy, Dick, Paul and Doug predicted. Totalitarianism facilitated by jackbooted Baathist thugs didn't make the Iraqis a better people ready to partake in a democratic government. Shooting rockets at infidel thugs is so much more entertaining than decididng on a local city councilman over dinner with the family. Though, the thought that the families can't make a buck to put dinner on the table so they go out and work for the insurgency can make perfect sense to the rational yet short sighted thought process.

9/11 made us think about the big stuff, global conflicts. The United State's success in Iraq is about practical, seasoned knowledge and nuanced judgement. Take that thought to the ballot box this November 2nd.
