Who Are These People?

Pretty much everybody is represented here, sort of the UN in a war zone. We have Bosnians who came on board during the 90's in the Balkands and stayed with the company. Some South Africans and New Zealanders along with a plethora of Indians, Pakistani and Phillipino workers. Many of the Americans are ex military and most are from the south. Y'all is heard all to often around these here parts.

Given the situation the attitudes are good. As much as I interact with the military, their attitudes seem good as well. It's difficult to explain but it's not that harsh environment, even with the 120 degree heat, dust - dust that is everywhere. That and living in a trailer. It's the people that make it like it is. Whiners and/or complainers tend to leave. Those that stay may be the sanest but they are some of the calmest, relaxed and fun people to be around. It helps having your meals made, office cleaned and laundry done.

Speaking of food, one of KBR's main responsibilities is to feed the troops and it's beyond good. It's also good that the troops are being fed the way they are. They deserve it. We have lobster, crab, lasagna, cordon bleu, prime rib, curry chicken, ice cream, cheesecake, apple cobbler, fudge brownies and lots and lots of gatorade and water. The dining facility puts it on and the Iraq heat takes it off.
